When we were young, our teachers would encourage us to let our imagination run wild. We were brought up to believe that we could be the next president, or firefighter. Every day was a new dream. One day, it would be about becoming the world’s most beautiful ballerina, or the next biggest pop star. It could also be about flying sorcerers or fire-breathing dragons. It didn’t matter how big or small the dream was. It was the fact that you dreamed was what matters.
As we get older, our dreams start to fade. We begin to forget all of the little things. We suddenly have to face the real world. We focus on paying the bills or where our next meal is going to come from that we forget our true dreams in life.
Someone once told me that, a dream is a blessing. Some people are able to turn a dream into reality and some people dream but forget about them. Or they’re too scared, because they don’t believe that it’s possible.
Every person has an inner child, who was fearless and brave, because they didn’t let anyone stand in the way of their dreams or imaginations. All we have to do is find that inner child, and dream again.
So dream, when the day is through
Dream, and they might come true
Things never are as bad as they seem
So dream, dream dream”
-John Mercer, Dream
“Motivation and enthusiasm manifest as desire and interest, and as a driving force that pushes to take action and pursue goals. Lack of motivation and enthusiasm denotes absence or deficiency in desire, interest and driving force.” – Remez Sasson
Why do people lack motivation and enthusiasm? There are two reasons: failure and fear of living a mediocre life. People lacking in motivation and enthusiasm are usually passive, blame everything and everyone for their circumstances, and often come up with many excuses why they shouldn’t and cannot do this or that, while a motivation person will take initiative, try and not give up, and will not even think about such excuses.
If you want to improve your life, you have to find something to motivate you. Use that as a reason why you’re motivated and don’t forget about it. It could be a bathing suit or a religion or a paint brush. It could even be your friends and family. Think of how proud they would be once you have succeeded.
If you are a student and are too lazy to study, you have to strengthen your desire to pay attention. You need to focus on your goals and take the necessary steps to get where you want to be. It’s about discipline and determination to show up to classes. There are so many amazing things to learn about in this world.
If you are lonely and gloomy, but wish to have love and happiness in your life, you have to rekindle your desire and enthusiasm to find love. People are the most beautiful and attractive when they are at their best.
No one is doomed for failure in their lives. Everyone has the opportunity to change their life around. But they have to realize that when they do find that drive, they’re doing it from themselves. You have to fight for what you want out of life. You should never give up on yourself.
I would like you to write a list of the things that you always wanted to do in life. It could be about anything from hugging a penguin to saving children in Africa. I hope that you pursue this list and cross out each item as you go down the list. You only have one life to live. Why not live it the way you want it to? The power is all yours. 🙂
